i see behaviors sometimes, just in the way animals adapt, and it makes me think about what we truly mean by smart. every once in a while, i wonder if our definition of intelligence is too narrow. we build our systems, our ideas of what counts as thinking, and it all feels so precise. but how does it make sense that our kind of intelligence is the only kind of intelligence in the universe. the universe holds so many forms of life, so many ways for things to learn and grow that we might not even recognize. maybe what we consider instinct isn't instinct at all, just a different form of understanding. maybe there are intelligences, integrated and living amongst us, in ways we can't perceive. maybe they don't solve problems with logic or words, but with something else entirely. how does it make sense that we're the only ones who truly think.
