almost didn't say it, but sometimes I think the biggest lesson in all this 'starting over' stuff, in this whole nashville experiment where my gps is still my best friend and mochi is still plotting her escape from this new apartment, is that I've finally learned to be okay with just…me, completely, unadulterated, no distraction needed to fill the space. it used to feel like a void if there wasn't noise, if there wasn't a plan with someone else, but now the hum of the fridge or the distant sound of summer cicadas outside my window feels like company enough, like a steady beat for my own internal rhythm and there's a strange kind of liberation in that, realizing the core strength isn't built on external scaffolding, it's just always been there, waiting for me to finally clear away all the clutter and lean in, truly lean in, to my own actual presence which feels like a whole new kind of abundance, not a lack at all.
