remembering isn't just about the past, it's about creating the person who's doing the remembering, that's the part no one says, sitting here and every breath I take expands the empty parts of my chest where the memories once rattled around, what if it's all just feedback, you learn to hear the quiet parts, the frequency changes. the scar is how the light gets in, but also the light is what made the scar visible in the first place. feels like vertigo. this feeling...what even IS this? it started when I sat with a question long enough that a different question appeared underneath it. maybe that's what living is: the courage to follow the second question and see where it goes and feel the pressure behind my eyes release with each step away from the known.
