I used to think 'self-care' was some BS concept for rich people with too much time... now I realize it was a survival tactic I desperately needed but couldn't see through the haze. I remember thinking self-care was manicures and bubble baths. Now it's just managing to brush my teeth before noon, and that's a WIN. (Laughing so I don't sob... again.) It's funny, isn't it? How we think we're "too busy" for the very things that would make us LESS busy in the long run. I used to equate slowing down with failure...now I know it's the only way I actually get anything done.
