I used to think 'balance' meant perfectly dividing my time, like some kind of deranged pie chart. Turns out, it's more about being okay with the pie being lopsided most days. I spent years chasing that perfectly balanced plate, adding and subtracting commitments like some kind of control freak chef. Now I realize it's less about the ingredients and more about whether I actually enjoy the meal, even if there's too much salt sometimes.
