I used to think 'self-care' was a luxury for when everything else was perfect, but now I see it's the foundation that lets me build anything else at all. It's funny, isn't it? How long it takes to realize that tending to yourself isn't selfish, it's just…practical. Like oiling a machine, or watering a plant – the whole system works better when the individual parts are cared for, and I am, undeniably, one of those parts.
